Hops, Barley & Rye is inspired by my son’s love for craft beer. He was also instrumental in helping me design this piece.

In this class, embroiderers will stitch a small design that incorporates the key ingredients of one of humanity’s oldest beverages: beer. This class will teach contemporary Stumpwork techniques of dimensional stitches, couching, padding, wrapping wire, wired slips and needle weaving.

Kit Contents: Instructions; silk shantung; cotton fabric; stranded silk and cotton thread; horse hair; felt; 33 gauge wrapped wire; needles.

Student Supplies: 12” x 12” Evertite frame, 12” x 12” stretcher bars, OR 8-1/2” embroidery hoop; 4” embroidery hoop; scissors for cutting paper and felt; usual stitching supplies. Magnification is highly recommended.
