Come into the Garden and enjoy the smell of the flowers and the soft buzzing of the bees! Using silk ribbon stitches and surface embroidery techniques, we will create an old-fashioned bee skep in a garden of bee-loving flowers. The design will use both 4mm & 7mm silk ribbons, including overdyes, DMC pearl cottons and floche, Needlepoint Inc. silk flosses, Caron Wildflowers and Waterlilies, Rainbow Gallery Capri and Mandarin floss, Straw Silk and Appleton crewel wool on a 13” x 13” hand-painted and drawn, congress cloth background. The outline stitch, stem stitch, wrapped stem, detached chain stitch, straight stitch, twisted straight stitch, loop stitch, fly stitch, grab stitch, woven rose, French knots, colonial knots, and the ribbon stitch are used to complete the design.
