This piece reviews various techniques of 17th century embroidery.  You will play with various threads and metals useful for this type of embroidery.  Variations will make your piece unique to you and your skill level.  This piece includes the design outline painted on silk shantung with a backing of muslin.  The frame will already be dressed and ready to stitch when you arrive to class. All supplies will be provided including a 4 inch wood hoop

Kit Contents: Silk Shantung on Muslin base mounted on slate frame with design already painted, 4 1/2 inch German wooden hoop with screw, all silks of various types including gimp (Au Ver a Soie), real gold stitchable thread, wires, muslin, glass eye, needles, and other small misc items. Instructions. Class weights will be available in class to hold frames.

Student provides: thread scissors and metal cutting scissors, magnification, lighting, laying tool and usual stitching supplies.
