Tomo Dai

from $50.00

We are proud to offer this unique item that is handcrafted by John Sinton in Houston.  John has been making wood products for Japanese Embroidery for 20 plus years. He is a master woodworker with decades of experience on many types of projects, including furniture, tool for Japanese embroidery, cabinets, boxes, etc.

A "Tomo Dai" is used as a table that fits across a Japanese Embroidery frame.  They are generally 18-19" in length, between 3-6(+)" wide, and about 1/2" high.  The dimensions vary a bit due availability of appropriate wood stock.  We have made Tomo Dai's with many types of highly figured wood (just a few of which are shown here).  Prices vary by the type of wood.  It is possible to custom order one specific wood, in which case we will provide a price quote.  Simply contact the woodworker John Sinton.
